Police have arrested four male Venezuelan nationals, who are suspected to be members of the Syndicato gang, and two Guyanese, all of whom claim to be miners, following a search at a hotel in Port Kaituma, Region One (Barima-Waini) Friday morning.
The undocumented men also had with them two All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV), $100,000 cash, and an unknown quantity of what appears to be raw gold. The items were detained by the Police.

The Venezuelans were arrested for failing to present themselves to immigration, while the Guyanese were arrested for aiding and abetting the Venezuelans to enter Guyana illegally.
Investigations are ongoing.
