Entrepreneur and food advocate Dionne Jones has launched an expanded version of Taste Guyana, transforming the digital publication she founded nearly a decade ago into what she hopes will become the country’s leading culinary media platform.
Originally established in 2017 as a digital food magazine, Taste Guyana has evolved into a comprehensive online ecosystem dedicated to promoting Guyana’s food, drink, culinary traditions and the people behind the country’s growing food industry.
Jones said the relaunch is aimed at celebrating every aspect of Guyana’s culinary landscape while creating opportunities for farmers, manufacturers, chefs, restaurateurs and other food entrepreneurs to gain greater visibility.
“Taste Guyana is more than a food website,” Jones said. “Our vision is to create a platform that celebrates every part of Guyana’s culinary landscape—from the farmers who grow our ingredients and the manufacturers who create locally made products, to the chefs, restaurants, creators, and entrepreneurs who continue to shape our food culture. We want Taste Guyana to become the definitive home of Guyanese cuisine, both locally and throughout the diaspora.”
At the centre of the expanded platform is Taste Guyana Magazine, a premium digital publication featuring chef profiles, restaurant reviews, authentic Guyanese recipes, food history, culinary tourism, locally manufactured products and stories highlighting the country’s rich cultural influences on cuisine.
The platform also introduces several new features, including a Food & Dining Directory offering a guide to restaurants, cafés, bakeries, caterers, food trucks and bars across Guyana.
Another key addition is Made in Guyana, a dedicated space showcasing locally manufactured food and beverage products and the entrepreneurs behind them.
The platform also features a Culinary Creators Network, designed to connect chefs, bakers, food bloggers, photographers, videographers, mixologists and other culinary professionals with new opportunities for collaboration and exposure.
In addition, users will have access to a growing collection of traditional Guyanese recipes alongside contemporary dishes inspired by local ingredients, as well as coverage of food festivals, restaurant weeks, product launches, cooking demonstrations and other culinary events across the country.
Jones said the platform also seeks to support Guyana’s food and tourism industries by offering businesses opportunities to reach consumers through advertising, sponsored content, featured listings, product showcases and strategic brand partnerships.
The inaugural digital edition of Taste Guyana Magazine is scheduled for publication in November 2026. It will feature exclusive stories, restaurant profiles, recipes and the debut of “Flavours of Our Heritage,” a six-part series exploring the culinary contributions of Guyana’s six peoples.
Jones is inviting food lovers, restaurants, manufacturers, culinary professionals and content creators to join the platform as it works to preserve Guyana’s culinary traditions while promoting the country as a premier food destination in the Caribbean.
