Barbados batsmen ran riot over the Combined Campuses and Colleges bowlers at Chedwin Park in Jamaica. Kevin Wickham led the Pride batting with a blistering 139 runs from 135 deliveries, which included nine sixes and eight fours as Barbados Pride declared on 344/8. This match started a day late due to the outfield being waterlogged on Day 1.

Backing up Wickham with the bat was Jonathan Drakes who knocked thirteen fours on his way to 84 and wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich who added 41 runs to the total. With a bowling attack that included four Barbadians, with Jonathan Carter being one of them, the CCC bowlers toiled against the Pride batsmen. Romario Greaves was the pick of the CCC bowlers with figures of 10-2-54-2, followed by Barbados under-19 bowler Zishan Motara with 9.2-1-54-2 and Jediah Blades with 18-2-64-2.

With the declaration, the CCC finished Day 2 on 10/1, when Kirstan Kallicharan was bowled by Akeem Jordan for 7. Shaqkere Parris is plodding away on 2 not out from 49 deliveries and Shamarh Brooks on 0 as the CCC will head into Day 3 seeking to scale the mammoth 334 runs ahead of them.

Meanwhile, over at Sabina Park, the Windward Islands Volcanoes are in the driver’s seat against home team Jamaica Scorpions. Volcanoes, resuming on their overnight score of 157/2 were bowled out for 341. The Volcanoes middle and lower order stood strong against the Scorpions bowling, with Johann Jeremiah top-scoring with 80, but Shamar Springer and Ryan John stole the show with 72 runs and 57 runs respectively. The pair added 118 runs for the seventh wicket. The Volcanoes amassed a 189-run lead when their first innings ended. Gordon Bryan was the best Scorpions bowler with figures of 23-4-64-4, followed by Peat Salmon with 31-11-78-3.

In their second innings reply, the Scorpions finished Day 2 on 76/4, still some 113 runs away from the Volcanoes first innings lead. Veterans Chadwick Walton 20 and skipper Jermaine Blackwood 16, failed to lift their team’s chase. Daurius Martin was the destroyer for the Volcanoes bowling attack, with figures of 7-1-29-3.

No play was possible over in St. Kitts due to persistent rainfall, where Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on 215/4 is taking on defending champions Guyana Harpy Eagles at Conaree Cricket Centre. While the West Indies Academy are 60/2 chasing the Leeward Islands Hurricanes first innings total of 137 all out, at Warner Park.
