CIOG hosts medical outreach at No. 55 Village

The Central Islamic Organization of Guyana (CIOG) hosted a Medical Outreach at the No. 55 Village  Masjid last Sunday.
Blood Pressure and Glucose testing and HIV, Syphilis and STD testing were among the services offered. The Islamic Organisation also facilitated a blood donation drive and offered general medical checkups as well as lectures on cancer and Covid-19 vaccination.  Massage Therapy, and medical assistance along with the Dispensation of Medication were also provided.

Along with the Medical Services, the public was able to obtain wide range of packages that catered for their daily needs that included women sanitary products, clothing and footwear.

In a statement, CIOG expressed gratitude to the many voluntary organizations, medical persons and members of the general public for their collaboration and kind support in making the outreach a success. Indira Jaffarally, the Imaam, President and Members of the #55 Village Masjid, the Road Safety team of Upper Berbice, the Guyana Cancer Foundation, the Guyana Medical Relief, National Blood Transfusion Services, National Aids Program Secretariat, Dauntless Therapeutic Bodyworks, the Ministry of Health and Sleepy South America were among those thanked.

“Our esteem thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, and the entire medical team who gave their time and services voluntarily for this humanitarian outreach which was able to rendered assistance to over 100 persons from the surrounding communities. The entire team combined their best efforts in assisting with the needs of the public and the CIOG thanks all for their efforts and sacrifices they made,” CIOG said in the statement.
