The country’s death toll has increased to 146. The trio died while receiving medical attention.

On Sunday, the Ministry announced that there were 40 new COVID-19 cases taking the number of persons infected by the disease since March to 5,133. Seven persons are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital while 4,019 persons have since recovered from the disease.

The Ministry of Health is urging Guyanese to observe the COVID-19 Emergency Measures (No.11) which are in effect until November 30,2020.

This order emphasises the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home; the importance of maintaining the six feet physical distance from others; and the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Persons displaying any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19, or need any additional information, are asked to contact the COVID-19 Hotline 231-1166, 226-7480 or 624-6674 IMMEDIATELY or visit us at www.health.gov.gy.
