National Coach Arrested For Allegedly Raping 14-y-o girl

A National Coach was arrested on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.

The alleged rape occurred on Friday, November 25, 2022, after a training session at the Leonora Track and Field Centre, West Coast Demerara (WCD).

The Coach was arrested at the sports facility while the National Schools’ Track and Field Championships were ongoing.

According to UnCut news an investigation was launched after police received a report of sexual assault against the Coach.

The victim who is an athlete claimed that after she finished practicing at the Track and Field Centre, she was lured into a room at the facility, and the Coach allegedly raped her.

After the incident, the victim reportedly informed a friend, who then made contact with a Welfare Officer. The Welfare officer then made contact with the victim’s parents and the matter was reported to the police.

It is also alleged that the victim was taken to a medical facility where an examination was conducted. The National Coach was then arrested. Further investigations are ongoing. (edited from Uncut News)
