Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo has spent years boasting about the so-called accomplishments of the PPP government, painting a picture of prosperity and progress. Yet, with all the alleged corrupt money that has flowed through the hands of the PPP elite, not a single doghouse or chicken pen has been built for the ordinary Guyanese. The people of this country have been promised development, but what they’ve received instead is manipulation, deception, and empty rhetoric from the ruling party.
Jagdeo, with his well-polished political manoeuvring, has perfected the art of misleading the people of Guyana. He speaks as though he is the saviour of the nation, yet his record is riddled with controversies and unanswered questions on one of his own Minister Satyadeow Sawh that was murder in 2006 under his presidency. His government continues to be plagued by allegations of corruption, friends, family, favouritism, and deals that benefit the few at the expense of the many.
The Vice President also seems to suffer from selective amnesia conveniently forgetting that President Irfaan Ali, the man he handpicked to lead the country, faced 19 fraud charges before becoming the PPP’s presidential candidate in the 2020 elections. Not only that, but Ali was also sanctioned by the Canadian government, a fact that the PPP desperately tried to sweep under the rug. These are not accusations from political opponents; they are documented realities that the PPP regime refuses to address.
Yet, Jagdeo continues to manipulate the minds of Guyanese people, using smooth words and grand promises to maintain his grip on power. He exploits the trust of the people while ensuring that those in his inner circle thrive while the ordinary citizens struggle with rising costs of living, poor infrastructure, and a lack of genuine economic opportunities.
The time has come for Guyanese to wake up and stand against this pathological liar. We must not allow ourselves to be used and manipulated by corrupt PPP figures who prioritize their own interests over the well-being of the nation. This country belongs to its people not to the elite few who continue to hoard wealth and power while pretending to care for the masses. Guyanese, the power is in your hands. It is time to hold this government accountable. It is time to demand real change not just more of Jagdeo’s empty words and broken promises.
