As political activists committed to challenging the current government, it’s crucial that we remember the scope of the struggle against oppression. While African-Guyanese communities have undeniably faced severe hardships under the PPP government, it is essential to recognize that this is not a solitary issue affecting only one group. The suffering extends beyond our ethnic boundaries, impacting Indo-Guyanese, indigenous Guyanese, and other segments of our society.

The current administration’s policies have inflicted economic hardships, curtailed opportunities, and undermined social justice across various communities. Indo-Guyanese, who have also experienced marginalisation, face economic disparities and social inequalities that need our collective attention. Indigenous Guyanese, with their unique struggles related to land rights and cultural preservation, are similarly impacted by the PPP government’s policies.

Opposition Leader’s Calls for Accountability Shine Light on Government Spending

Our fight for justice and equality should be inclusive of all who are affected by these injustices. It is vital that we broaden our perspective and build solidarity across ethnic and cultural lines. This unity not only strengthens our position but also amplifies our voice in demanding comprehensive change.

To achieve meaningful progress, we must highlight the country nature of our struggle. By standing together, acknowledging the diverse experiences of all affected groups, and advocating for collective rights, we reinforce our commitment to a more equitable and just society for every Guyanese.

In this spirit, let us remember that our strength lies in our unity. Let’s work together to ensure that our activism reflects the true breadth of the challenges we face and the inclusivity necessary to overcome them.
