Dear Editor,

Once again, the Guyanese people have been let down by the leadership of the opposition. It is unfathomable that the leader of the opposition, Aubrey Norton, is not even interested in the recent US$214M audit fiasco involving ExxonMobil. This is a crucially important issue that threatens the economic stability of our nation, yet the opposition leader remains indifferent.

Instead, it seems that Roysdale Forde, Member of Parliament, is one out of a few who is showing any willingness to demand answers from the government. However, Mr. Forde is acting on his own, says Aubrey Norton, without any real support from the opposition leader. This is a worrying sign of disunity within the opposition ranks and suggests that Aubrey Norton is not focused on the real issues that affect our country.

The ExxonMobil audit fiasco is just one example of the many challenges facing Guyana at the moment. We have a fragile economy, a struggling healthcare system, and a looming environmental crisis. These are issues that require strong and capable leadership from the opposition. Unfortunately, it seems that we do not have such leadership at the moment.

The people of Guyana deserve better. We need leaders who are willing to stand up for what is right and fight for the interests of the nation. We need leaders who are willing to demand accountability from the government and hold them responsible for their actions. The future of our country depends on it.

It is time for the opposition leader, Aubrey Norton to wake up and stop been a patient in the ICU . He cannot afford to be complacent and indifferent to the pressing issues facing our nation. I call on Aubrey Norton to show real leadership and take action to address the challenges we face. The people of Guyana are watching and waiting for him to step up to the plate and stop been so childish with National matters.

Yours truly,
Bhuvesh Kumar, Bsc
