A few years ago, these organizations would have been issuing press releases on the costs to their businesses of lost productivity and would have been bemoaning the fact that new taxes were being implemented on their members because of the government’s inability to provide an adequate and reliable power supply.

Fast forward to our current situation, there is complete silence.  Businesses are suffering and will likely pass on any additional costs from taxes to the citizens of Guyana. But, in the new One Guyana era, such public constructive criticisms are non-existent.

Yours truly,

David Patterson
