On this Labor Day, The Village Voice salutes you. Even as you’ve ventured far from our golden shores, you’ve showcased the Guyanese spirit of hard work, resilience, and unity in your new homeland. Your achievements and endeavors in the United States not only uplift your personal dreams but also cast a beam of pride back to our Guyanese community here at home.
Today, while celebrating the labor movements and the workers of America, we also recognize and honor the tenacity of every Guyanese who has paved a path in the United States. Please remember that though the waters of the Demerara may not flow nearby, our shared Guyanese roots run deep and strong.
