Finance official dies in Mabura accident

A Ministry of Finance official died on Friday died in an accident at Mahdia, police have reported.

Dead is Pretipaul Jaigobin.

Below is the police statement

The GPF informs of an incident involving one black Toyota TUNDRA bearing registration # GTT 1936 which was driven by Nand Singh, age 44 years of 111 Miles Mahdia which occurred on 2021-04-01 about 15:00 hours along the Mahdia Access Road about five kilometers(5km) away from Mabura Police Outpost.

Other occupants are as follows: 1.) Pretipaul Jaigobin, age 54 years, of Low Lands ECD, 2.) Franky Wessel Trotz, age 29 years of Meten-meer-Zorg Ocean Gardens WCD, and 3.) Ravie Gayadean, age 25 years, of Zeelught WCD.

When police arrived at the scene theymet Franky Wessel Trotz who related that he was in the cab of the said vehicle which was heading to Mabura when the driver lost control of the said vehicle causing it to turn topple several times before coming to a halt.

David Adams of Mahdia was passing and rendered assistance.

Nand Singh, Ravie Gayadean and  Pretipaul Jaigobin were escorted to Mabura where they were attended to by medic,  who immediately transferred them to the Linden Hospital Complex.

On arrival at Linden, they were seen and examined by a doctor who pronounced Pretipaul Jaigobin dead on arrival.

Nand Singh and Ravi Gayaeddan were admitted and their condition is said to be stable.

Investigation is ongoing.
