Mohammed’s Enterprise wins contract to build new fire service HQ

Mohamed’s Enterprise has been awarded a contract of $614M to build the new Guyana Fire Service headquarters at  Durban Park, Homestretch Avenue.

In a statement, the Department of Public Information noted that the Ministry of Home Affairs, represented by Permanent Secretary, Mae Thomas, on Wednesday signed the contract with Mohammed’s Enterprise, for the construction of the new Guyana Fire Service Headquarters building.

The signing was witnessed by Minister of Home Affairs, the  Robeson Benn.

The new GFS Headquarters will be erected on a site on Homestretch Avenue, at a cost of $614M. Construction is set to start no later than December 1, 2021, with completion expected in fourteen months.

“Relocation of the Guyana Fire and Ambulance Service will help increase the emergency response timings, given that they will be away from the heavily congested Stabroek environment,’ Minister Benn stated.
