South Better Hope man held at gunpoint, robbed of phone, cash while at home

A 34-year-old South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara man was robbed of his money and phone by a gunman, while he was in his yard.

According to the police, the robbery took placed on November 19 at around 19:30hrs. The suspect who is known to the victim, is currently on the run.

According to a police report, the victim was in is yard when he was confronted by the suspect who jumped his fence and whipped out a handgun from his pants waist. The bandit then demanded the victim’s cellphone and cash.

The suspect, who is no stranger, held the victim at gunpoint, took him into his house, and demanded that the cash be handed over. A total of $80,000 in cash was taken along with the cell phone which valued $40,000.

The suspect then made good of his escape in a white Allion motorcar (license plate unknown) which was parked in front of the victim’s gate.

Investigations are ongoing.
