The Guyana Police Force in a statement said the incident occurred between 3:00hrs and 4:00hrs on Monday.
Police investigation has thus far revealed that a 41-year-old man of Supply Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, who works as a watchman on the farm, was awakened by noises coming from a chicken pen.
“…upon making checks, he saw several persons moving in the pen. The man then armed himself with a cutlass and returned to the said pen where he was confronted by three identifiable men, who were making their way out of the pen with two large bags, suspected to have contained chickens,” the police detailed.
