Michael remains Guyana’s only medalist. At the age of 22 he won a bronze medal at the 1980 Olympic in the Men’s Bantamweight category fighting against Dumitru Cipere of Romania. Guyana has never competed in the Winter Olympic. Read more here from Kwesi Mugisa about the man who put Guyana on the Olympic Map in 1980.
