Police said that enquires disclosed that motor lorry # GZZ 4439 was proceeding west along the southern side of the De Kendren Public Road WCD when it was alleged that the pedestrian who was standing along the northern side of the road after observing the traffic, walked from north to south across the road in the path of the truck. As a result, the left side front of the truck collided into her, causing her to fall to the road surface where she received injuries about the body.

She was picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious state and taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where she was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced her dead on arrival.  The driver remains in custody as investigations continue.
