The police Narcotics Branch has nabbed a 44-year-old man of East Street South Cummingsburg, Georgetown with 953 grams of cannabis at his premises.
According to police report, on Tuesday at around 11:30hrs, ranks from the Narcotics Branch, on an intelligence lead operation, went to East Street South Cummingsburg at the home of the man who was contacted and informed by the officer in-charge of the information received.
A search of his premises was requested to which he complied. As the ranks conducted the search in his presence, nothing illegal was initially found in the house and yard. However, there were zinc sheets West of his premises and the ranks carried out a search on same where a black plastic bag was found.
It contained two compressed parcels wrapped with a transparent and black plastic bags which contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. The suspected cannabis was shown to the suspect after which he was cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Narcotics Branch, where the suspected cannabis was weighed.
It amounted to 953 grams and was also photographed, sealed and lodged. The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.
