The general manager of a logging concession in Region One died after a tree he was cutting fell o him Monday morning.
Dead is 29-year-old Marques Cornelius of Singh’s Mining Operations.
The incident occurred around 10:00hrs in the Big Hope Waini district Region One. The owner of Singh’s Operation Mr. Deleep Singh said that he received the tragic news from his son. He said he was told that while they were clearing bushes in the Big Hope area a tree fell on Cornelius. His workers rushed to his rescue but could not save his life.
The matter was reported to the police. Singh said all funeral expenses will be paid for by the company. Cornelius, a father of one was employed by the company for over 15 years.
