In a passionate and thought-provoking Emancipation Day Facebook Live session, former Minister Hon. Simona Broomes called for unity and accountability among Guyanese citizens, urging them to stand up for justice and embrace positive change. Throughout the Facebook Live session, Fmr. Minister Broomes passionately reminded her viewers that they must love and respect themselves before demanding the same from others. She encouraged people to reject oppressive systems and not be afraid to stand up for what is right.

The former minister concluded with a call for introspection and reflection, emphasizing that positive change starts within individuals and their communities. She urged everyone to embrace a united front in the pursuit of a better and more equal society.
