In a passionate and thought-provoking Emancipation Day Facebook Live session, former Minister Hon. Simona Broomes called for unity and accountability among Guyanese citizens, urging them to stand up for justice and embrace positive change. Addressing a wide range of issues, she emphasized the importance of examining oneself and working collectively to make a difference in society.

During the live session, Hon. Broomes highlighted the historical struggles faced by African Guyanese and encouraged her audience to value their hard-earned freedom. She emphasized the need for citizens to celebrate diversity and reject any form of discrimination or hate speech. In a call for unity, she urged leaders and parliamentarians, regardless of their political affiliations, to listen to the people and work together for the betterment of the nation.

Throughout the Facebook Live session, Fmr. Minister Broomes passionately reminded her viewers that they must love and respect themselves before demanding the same from others. She encouraged people to reject oppressive systems and not be afraid to stand up for what is right.

The former minister concluded with a call for introspection and reflection, emphasizing that positive change starts within individuals and their communities. She urged everyone to embrace a united front in the pursuit of a better and more equal society.
