Labour Day 2026 Message from the People’s Progressive Party

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 18-year-old Henry Williams, a labourer of Buzz a Bee Dam, Craig, East Bank Demerara which occurred on 3rd June, 2023 about 23:00 hrs at Buzz a Bee Dam, Craig East Bank Demerara by a male suspect at large.
Enquires disclosed that the deceased and suspect shared the said apartment along with four other persons. A fight broke out between the suspect and deceased over a female about 19:00 hours and both continued fighting outside on the dam. A neighbour told police that as he was bathing the suspect came to him and reported that the deceased hanged himself.
The neighbour says he went to investigate and found the deceased lying motionless on the ground between some abandoned chicken pens. He raised an alarm, and the suspect ran away into some bushes, making good his escape.
The body of the deceased bore several bruises around the neck and was pronounced dead by EMT personnel and is now at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting Post Mortem Examination.
Statements have been taken from several persons in the area and a search for the suspect is underway as investigations continue.
