The only approved diving contractor for ExxonMobil Guyana, Aqueos Corporation has inked a deal with Guyana’s AGT Energy Group Inc. to provide subsea and other marine services to the local oil and gas sector.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked on Wednesday at the AGT’s local office at Providence, East Bank Demerara. Participating in the signing was President and CEO of Aqueos, Ted Roche and Managing Director of AGT Energy Group Inc., Danny Balkissoon.

“We see this as a strategic initiative for our company since it is really important to align with the right group and that is AGT, and DCEL who will help to provide local talent,” Balkissoon said. Meanwhile, Roache added: “Guyana’s oil and gas sector is extremely important to the growth of the country and its people, and we’re committed to providing local content wherever we can. We remain committed to training additional Guyanese to fill the projects under our

portfolio.”

Also present at the signing were COO of Aqueos, Eric Legendre and Oil and Gas Consultant for DCEL, Darren Debideen. Debideen said: “This is an exciting development for DCEL. This consortium was established to provide services to the oil and gas majors operating in Guyana, and with Aqueos already having a contract with ExxonMobil this augurs well for our growth and for getting more Guyanese trained for jobs in the industry.”

Aqueos currently has a five-year enabling agreement with ExxonMobil Guyana, to provide surface and deepwater commercial diving and ROV services. The company is the only approved diving contractor for ExxonMobil in Guyana.

It is a premier provider of subsea services to both the oil and gas and civil markets in the Gulf of Mexico and the US Pacific Coast. The company provides marine construction and specialty subsea services, including commercial diving, remotely operated vehicles (ROV), and vessel services, from offices in Texas, Louisiana and California.

Meanwhile, AGTEnergy Group Inc. is a member of the oil and gas services consortium led by Demerara Contractors and Engineers Limited (DCEL), a subsidiary of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL).
