Former Staff Sgt and Mayor Pt Ubraj Narine extends condolences on deaths of GDF colleagues

'These courageous men dedicated their lives to protecting nation and citizens, displaying unwavering commitment and bravery'

Former Mayor Pt Ubraj Narine extends his deepest condolences to the grieving family members of our brave men from the Guyana Defence Force who tragically lost their lives. Among these heroes are Brigadier (Rtd) Gary Beaton, Col. Michael Shahoud, Lt. Col. Michael Charles, Lt. Col. Sean Welcome, and Sgt. Jason Khan.

Mayor Narine, who was a former Staff Sergeant in the Army, says he recognises the immense sacrifice these individuals made while serving our country, and he shares in the sorrow felt by their loved ones during this difficult time. “These courageous men dedicated their lives to protecting our nation and its citizens, displaying unwavering commitment and bravery.”

In saluting his former colleagues, Mayor Narine, also expresses heartfelt sympathy and support to the families as they mourn the loss of their beloved ones.

Making known his acknowledgment of the immeasurable impact the fallen soldiers would have had, not only on their families but also on the entire nation, the former staff sergeant says society owes them a debt of gratitude.

“May the families find solace and strength in the memories of their loved ones’ selflessness and bravery. May they be comforted by the outpouring of love and support from the community, and may the courageous souls of Brigadier (Rtd) Gary Beaton, Col. Michael Shahoud, Lt. Col. Michael Charles, Lt. Col. Sean Welcome, and Sgt. Jason Khan rest in eternal peace.”

“I salute you all! ” he said.
