Third COVID-19 death recorded today

…death toll rises to 134

The Ministry of Health has reported Guyana’s third COVID-19 death for the day bringing the death toll to 134.

In a statement, the Ministry said that the latest fatality is a 58-year-old male from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who died while receiving treatment.

Earlier today, a 74-year-old woman from Region 10 (Upper Demerara -Berbice) and a 56-year-old man from Region One (Barima-Waini) died from the virus. They too died while receiving treatment.

Region Four has recorded 2114 cases thus far, the highest figure among all regions.
Sixty-Four new cases of the virus were recorded today bringing the total number of recorded COVID-19 cases to 4457.
There are 11 persons stationed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital while 74 are in institutional isolation and 42 are in institutional quarantine.
