Dale Davidson is a Guyanese American restaurateur who owns the Umana Yana restaurant in the heart of Albany County. This Afro & Asian Caribbean-inspired restaurant has been a fixture in the area for over a decade and is known for its fusion of African and Asian flavors. Umana Yana’s menu offers gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, making it a welcoming destination for all.

Recently, Davidson expanded her culinary empire by opening a second location in the Empire State Concourse ( seat of NYS government) in Albany Ny. The grand opening was a huge success and drew a large crowd. Umana Yana also won the Restaurant Appreciation Month contest, beating over 40 other restaurants with more than 60 submissions. Its victory reflects the restaurant’s culinary prowess and popularity among diners.

Umana Yana’s unique blend of African and Asian flavors has earned it many accolades. The restaurant recently catered an event to celebrate Women’s History Month, where they introduced Umana Culture Boxes. New York’s first female Governor Kathy Hochul was in attendance, and the event was held at the NYS Museum and sponsored by the NYS Department of Civil Service.

The restaurant offers lunch, dinner, and brunch options throughout the week, and its extensive menu features  a large selection of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Umana Yana is a reflection of the rich cultural diversity of the Caribbean and Guyanese community, and it’s a true hidden gem in Albany County.

We congratulate Umana Yana Restaurant and Dale Davidson on their recent successes and encourage everyone to try their delicious food and unique cultural experience. Add Umana Yana to your Albany County dining bucket list and taste the amazing flavors that this restaurant has to offer.
