HE President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, 9th Executive President, commendations, for taking his government to the people in the Regions, and hopefully all 10 regions and Diaspora (Region11) will be visited.  Recently, Berbice 2 days visit was with a huge portion of the entire PPPC Government.

Since 1966 Independence, credit where credit is due, for HE Linden Forbes Burnham, First Executive President who was the first to try, Government to the People, without the services of media, social media, technology, and oil revenues.

Economist Intelligence Unit reported that Guyana’s democracy fell 2 points, and is below Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and Suriname, and the Only Country Guyana is higher than in Haiti.  Transparency International reported that, on Corruption Guyana Remains Far Behind Barbados and Bahamas.

DANGER: with ALL successes there can be unintended dangers, consequences, and fallout. WHY did HE President Ali Government’s Agencies, Ministries and NDCs, Not Able To Solve, remedy and correct the items needed by citizens, Timely? Micromanagement? Mismanagement? Malfeasance?  If citizens do arrive at the Office of the President, is this office, staff, and administrators, now equipped to handle the volume of aggrieved citizens?

UG is being undermined by GOAL, and now Government Agencies, are being undermined by President? who should be working on the Foreign Policy as an OIL Nation, OPEC, Embassy in Riyadh, KSA; talking with Opposition on Judiciary Appointments and New Voters List with Biometrics; Opposition access to State Media; Poverty Reduction; Opposition on State Boards, etc. Continuing discredit to the Public Service, in the long run, will prove to be, not a wise decision.

Continuing “Apan Jhaat” 1950’s and “Abee Time Now” 2020’s is both Cancerous in Theory, Practice, and Application, which will lead to a more divided nation, where the Nation’s Civil Service are the Main Payers of PAYE Taxes. Ethnic superiority as currently practiced, is very unwise, for the future and 2025 or earlier General elections. Secrecy is not an asset in place of Transparency and the President should/must involve the Opposition and Civil Society on All the transformational items, as much more can and will be achieved. Need for a High Road management in place of “one party, one seat majority in Parliament, management.”

With all due respect, President Ali needs to remember that he is Not Guyana’s Superman or Robinhood or Saladin, and his one-man or two-man government, which in the end, will not be successful. It will be much better for delegation with full authority to Administrators, for EQUITY in the provision of timely Government’s services to ALL citizens. FACT: For the last 31 years, PPP is in Government for 26 years, and should know how to deliver a better quality of Government, for ALL, with their educated teams and their 60 + years experienced members who served in Governments.

“Guyana succeeds in its pursuit of a ‘Flawed Democracy’ as headlined in SN of February 4. In the same breath one reads of the undertaking to continue to broaden and heighten Region 6 — climaxing with a Grand Stadium. Once again is this glaring discrimination against ‘flawed Region Four’:

1)    No Grants. 2)    No monthly $40,000 employment pay. 3)     No Outreach. 4)    Just Inferior Structures. What a score to be ignored.  Yours faithfully, E. B. John

Guyana Youth & Culture Ambassador Letitia Wright, Ph.D.(Hon. Causa).

Our collective congratulations to Letitia Wright, a born Guyanese, played Shuri -sister of the late King T’Challa, – in the movie Black Panther, Wakanda Forever, for her Honorary PhD. from University of Guyana, Key to the City of Georgetown, and the many dinners and receptions to Recognise, Honour and Celebrate a Youthful, Outstanding and Humble Guyanese.  Globally, it was very noticeable that the Leader of the Opposition OR a Representative, who represent more than half of the population was NOT INVITED to the LAVISH State Dinner hosted by President Dr. Ali, with taxpayers’ monies.

Ms. Letitia, Goed Intentent, West Coast Demerara, is UG’s Young Honourary PhD., in its 60th Year, and she possesses humility from family, village and God. She overcame many obstacles, but had the resourcefulness of purpose, with her vision, plan, and execution with confidence. She prepared herself to meet Opportunities with Confidences with her Personality, Preparation and Purpose. She enjoys, “Dholl & Roti AND Pepperpot and Bread.”  Engineer Bernard Rollins, New Jersey USA Diaspora, is among the First to advocate for Ms. Wright to be invited to visit her Homeland and to be appointed as Guyana Youth Ambassador.

Guyana is reportedly with 40% Population of Youths, so the appointment of Letitia Wright, as Guyana Youth & Culture Ambassador will be an Asset to a divided nation, which will and can assist to heal the nation, motivate, guide, and counsel the youths towards their contributions to their self-development, education, entrepreneurship, and the achievement of their individual and collective goals. Ms. Letitia can be the Magnet that attracts each other for a greater whole, especially with Youths in Guyana, and the Global Branding for Guyana’s, One People, One Nation, One Destiny.

Guyana Government will be unable to provide Jobs for ALL, so there is an urgent need for Skills Traning in ALL 10 Regions coupled with good attitudes, soft skills and work discipline which are needed for successes in work with the Public Sector, Private Sector, NGOs, and Entrepreneurship.

Guyana’s Recognition should also be extended to Actress Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Rihanna (of Guyanese-Barbadian parentage, with her mother is Guyanese) are both outstanding children of Guyana.  Shaunette Renée Wilson, age 33, is a Guyanese-born American actress, best known for four seasons in the role of Dr. Mina Okafor in the Amy Holden Jones-created Fox series The Resident and appeared in Black Panther, Billions and A Kid Like Jake.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, age 30, singer, actress, entrepreneur, humanitarian, and Global Celebrity. In 2017, she started Fenty Beauty, a cosmetics brand, in 2017. Between her vast real estate portfolio and her stakes in Fenty and Savage X Fenty, Rihanna is worth USD $1.7 Billion and has sold 250 million records.

A Youth Ambassador is a young agent, representative and/or steward for the charity for which they work. Youth Ambassadors have been introduced to promote participation or spread goodwill or knowledge. Organisations that make use of Youth Ambassadors vary from charitable organizations for children to intergovernmental organizations, like the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the United Nations for the support of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and for other organizations.  Youth ambassador – Wikipedia
