Guyana stands to earn tens of billions of US dollars over the next two decades from the development of the burgeoning oil and gas sector.

What does this mean for Guyana and, importantly, the hundreds of thousands in the Diaspora? What are the pathways to our collective prosperity?

To answer some of these questions, the Guyanese American Chamber of Commerce (GACC), in conjunction with the Guyana Business Journal (GBJ), will host a forum and reception in South Florida on December 14 entitled ‘Pathways to Guyana’s Economic Prosperity in this Era of Oil and Gas.’

The free forum and reception will be held at the Miramar Cultural Center starting at 4 pm. They will bring together experts from the private and public sectors in Guyana and the Diaspora to engage the audience and share views on these questions.

Our two panels will examine:

  • Pathways to Economic Prosperity in Guyana: An Oil and Gas Perspective

  • Oil, the New Frontier for Guyana

Confirmed panelists include Joel Bhagwandin, Arthur Deakin, Jerry Haar, Carl Greenridge, Ivelaw Griffith, Riyad Insanally, and Natasha Gaskin-Peters.

Global oil giant ExxonMobil has been invited to have a representative speak at the event.
