VAS Energy Inc. has rubbished claims that it conned Sanjay Jewelry $26M as alleged that by a local social media blogger. In fact, its representative, Vijay Sukhdeo said as of August 31, 2021, the $26M was paid in full to Bishnarrine Persaud of Sanjay Jewelry as per their agreement.

In a press statement, Sukhdeo explained that Persaud attemptd to change the cheques totaling $10M and $16M before the agreed date – August 31.

“Pursuant to the oral agreement between VAS Energy Inc. and Bishnarrine Persaud, the cheques were to be cashed at the end of August in order to facilitate funds being wire transferred into the local bank account,” Sukhdeo explained.

He said Vas Energy Inc. had no intention of defrauding Persaud or any other Guyanese, as erroneously peddled by the social media blogger.

“It was always the intention of the parties that the cheques would be enchased on the 31st of August, 2021 and it is unfortunate that Mr. Persaud did not adhere to agreed date,” Sukhdeo said.

He said Vas Energy Inc. is hopeful that Persaud would acknowledge valid receipt of the money.
