Kensington Cricket Club will meet St. Catherine Cricket Club in the final of the 2025 Michael Holding Senior Cup after a first innings win over Clarendon Cricket Association at Jamalco over the weekend.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Clarendon’s bowlers answered the call well, restricting Kensington to 116-8 in the 42nd over before a 65-run ninth-wicket partnership between Jamie Hay and Tamarie Redwood provided some much-needed respectability to proceedings.

They were bowled out for 181 in 54.4 overs in the end with Hay leading the scoring with 86 off 99 balls including eight fours and four sixes.

Savio Jones and Corey Hinds earlier made 30 and 27, respectively.

Perico Henry was the best bowler in the first innings for Clarendon with 4-56 from 14.4 overs.

Clarendon in reply, despite being 57-1 and 90-2, were eventually bowled out for 150 in 43.2 overs.

Openers Odain McCatty and Randre Christie were the main scorers with 58 off 106 balls and 40 off 63 balls.

Ryan Francis was instrumental to the demise of the Clarendon batting line-up with his 7-42 from 18.2 overs of left-arm spin while pacer Anthony Dackers took 2-24 from nine overs.

Kensington then got to 39-1 in 17 overs in their second innings when action was called off.

St. Catherine got to the final last week thanks to a first innings win over defending champions, Kingston Cricket Club. Sportsmax
