According to Police, at about 17:30h at a stop and search operation conducted by ranks at the Itaballi checkpoint, the salesman and a porter, 20, of Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD) were asked to disembark a lorry, driven by the EBD resident.

Police conducted a search on a camouflage haversack belonging to the salesman and found a multi-colored hammock containing two parcels.
The parcels contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis while a transparent plastic bag contained a cream-ish substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

The man admitted to ownership of the drugs and has been placed in police custody at the Bartica Police Station pending charges.
