Police on Sunday found the burnt remains of a car they believed to have been used in the killing of a man in Linden Saturday at a Blue Lake in Linden
The silver-grey Fielder wagon was fully burnt, police said in a statement. According to the police a party of policemen on patrol duty in the vicinity of the area known as Blue Lake came upon the fully burnt silver-grey Fielder wagon motorcar which was parked on the southern side of Blue Lake Access Road.

The said vehicle is suspected to be the one used in the alleged murder of Delroy McKenzie and attempt murder of Calvin Daly which occurred on 2021-07-17. Police said two unknown persons carried out the attack. Information received states that about 17:00 hrs Saturday McKenzie and Daly left Georgetown for Linden to visit a female friend. About 21:00 hrs, they arrived in Linden via public transportation and went to Church’s to purchase chicken.

McKenzie was given directions from his female friend via cellular to join a boat at the last stelling at the McKenzie shore. On arrival at the Wismar shore, McKenzie contacted the female via cellular phone and he was told to walk up the road through a street (Sunflower Street). They then went through the street further down to a bridge and a short distance in the cross street. McKenzie then received another phone call in which the female told him to turn around since she will be sending a silver wagon to pick them up.

The men then walked out of the street where the said silver-grey wagon car turned around and as McKenzie approached the car to open the back door, a man opened the door first and started to shoot at him and another male came out of the front passenger seat and opened fire too.
Daly ran for cover. The car had three male occupants at the time but McKenzie did not recognise any of them, the police release stated. They joined the car and continued to drive in a southern direction towards Silver City street. Daly police said claimed that he does not know anything about the female.

Daly sustained two gunshot wounds on the left and right lower arm with abrasions to both of his arms.
