Police destroy two marijuana farms at Henrietta Village

The Guyana Police Force, during an eradication exercise on Sunday, destroyed two ganja farms at Henrietta Village, Berbice River.
The exercise took place between 7:00hrs and 18:40hrs, and resulted in an estimated 108,600 lbs of Cannabis Sativa being destroyed.

In a statement, the Police Force, said the party of policemen, who conducted the exercise also discovered a make-shift camp in addition to the marijuana farms.

“The farms measured about five (5) acres in length with about thirteen thousand cannabis plants ranging from 3 to 5 feet in height. There were about eighty pounds of dried cannabis plants hanging in the said camps and five (5) salt bags of leaves stored there,” the police detailed.

The farms along with the dried cannabis were all destroyed by fire. The area was marked by its location.
No arrests were made.

The estimated weight of the cannabis plants is 108,600lbs.
