The Alliance For Change (AFC) has formally acknowledged the declaration of the 2025 General and Regional Elections results by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), extending congratulations to President Dr. Irfaan Ali and the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) on their victory.

In a statement issued following GECOM’s official announcement, the AFC noted that while its journey to the polls was filled with both challenges and inspiration, it remains grateful to the Guyanese people for their engagement throughout the campaign period.

“Engaging with fellow citizens motivated us, adventures across our beautiful country inspired us, and we express our sincere gratitude to everyone who was part of this process,” the party stated.

While accepting the declared results, the AFC also pointed to serious concerns raised during the electoral process, echoing issues flagged by international observer missions. These include the misuse of state resources and weak campaign finance regulations, which the party hopes will be meaningfully addressed by GECOM and the incoming administration.

“The AFC has noted the comments of the Observer Missions on the process leading up to these elections… and hope that their recommendations will be taken into account,” the statement said.

In closing, the AFC thanked Guyanese citizens for exercising their democratic right to vote and for maintaining peace in the post-election period.

“We remain committed to good governance in Guyana and will continue to advocate for justice, a fair share, equality and equity for all citizens,” the statement concluded.

The AFC’s acceptance of the results and call for reforms underscore the party’s intent to remain a vocal player in the country’s political discourse, even as it moves into a new phase of national governance.
