Guyana Must Explain Its UN Non-Vote on Cuba

Dear Editor,
Ah good day to yuh. Ah writing dis letter because ah have some concerns about dis whole Youth Agricultural Homestead Programme (YAHP) ting dat de new UNC government sayin’ dey investigating.
First off, Minister Ravi Ratiram talkin’ bout dis programme like it was some kinda scam, but let me ask de question dat real people want answers to: **Will de UNC provide de young people (who de PNM educate and train for years in farming) wid de promised land, homes, and funding? Or is it dey goin’ to do what dey always do—land grabbin’ to hand out in another “Feeding Frenzy” to UNC sycophants?**
It lookin’ like dey more interested in pointing fingers dan continuing or fixing de programme. Dey bawlin’ dey eh see no starter homes or land, but Foster Cummings done say de work start already in Chatham. Licences to occupy give out, land under development, and houses under construction—so what really goin’ on? Yuh want to tell me dey cyah continue de process and deliver de promises instead of spendin’ time lookin’ for “data” and “briefs”?
De youths who sign up for dis programme deserve better dan political bacchanal. Dey already went through de training, dey get dey hope up, and now dey watchin’ to see if de UNC goin’ to deliver or mash it up.
UNC always quick to cry foul when dey outta power, but now dey in charge, we waitin’ to see if dey goin’ to step up and do what need to be done. Dis programme is not about politics—dis is about de future of agriculture in Trinidad and Tobago and keepin’ de young people motivated to stay in de field.
So, leh we cut de grand charge and get to de point: **De young people want to know—UNC, allyuh goin’ to deliver de land, homes, and funding or not? Or is it back to de same ol’ story of broken promises and nepotism?**
Ah hope allyuh answer dis question straight.
Respectfully,
George P Thomas,
Concerned Citizen,
Trinidad and Tobago
