“…according to his daughter Sabitree Deodat her father visited her at her home on Wednesday 06th January 2021 about 17:15 hours and he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. She claimed that he subsequently left about 17:30 hours to go home, but did not reach home and family members became worried and began to search for him,” the police said.

On Saturday at about 06:30hrs, family members found the deceased floating with his face down in the Hampton Court trench.

An alarm was raised and the body was fished out and positively identified. The body was then escorted to the Suddie Public Hospital where it was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced him dead on arrival.

The body was subsequently taken to the Suddie Mortuary and awaits Post Mortem Examination.
