Guyanese-Born Entrepreneur Mark Dalgety Among 15 Honoured at Black British Business Awards

Guyanese-born entrepreneur Mark Dalgety, CEO of Caricom Products Ltd, trading as Dalgety Teas, has been celebrated as a winner in the prestigious Black British Business Awards 2024. Dalgety triumphed in the highly competitive Entrepreneur Senior Leader category, which recognizes outstanding black business leaders who have made significant contributions to their industries.

The Black British Business Awards, now in their 11th year, continue to spotlight the remarkable achievements of black professionals and entrepreneurs in the UK. This year’s theme, #NEXT, emphasized a new decade of accomplishments while also looking ahead to the next generation of black industry leaders.

Dalgety, an inspiring figure in the food and beverage industry, was one of 15 black professionals recognized for their outstanding achievements. His company, Dalgety Teas, is a renowned brand known for its herbal teas made from natural ingredients, many of which are sourced from the Caribbean. As CEO, Dalgety has expanded the reach of his brand across international markets, and his dedication to promoting healthy, natural products has garnered widespread acclaim.

Dalgety was chosen from among an impressive group of finalists in the Entrepreneur Senior Leader category, which included Sama Trinder, CEO and Founder of Bingham Riverhouse and bhuti, and Ndubuisi Uchea, Co-Founder and CEO of Word on the Curb. His win is also a significant milestone for the wider Guyanese and Caribbean business community in the UK and beyond.

The Black British Business Awards, hosted by Wells Fargo, have become a platform for celebrating the contributions of black professionals in the UK. Since their inception, the awards have honored more than 330 black British professionals and entrepreneurs, helping to raise the profile of black business leaders in various industries. Wells Fargo, a major corporate supporter of the awards since 2019, continues to play a pivotal role in backing the initiative.
