AFC Congratulatory Message to the New UK Government

The Alliance for Change extends heartfelt congratulations to Sir Keir Starmer on his accession to the role of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. This triumph is not only a testament to the enduring strength and resilience of the Labour Party but a signal of change for the United Kingdom.

We also extend our warmest congratulations to the members of his cabinet and most especially to David Lammy on his appointment as Foreign Secretary. Mr. Lammy, with his Guyanese heritage, embodies the rich diversity and multicultural fabric that are the bedrock of both our nations. His ascent to this esteemed position is a source of immense pride and inspiration for Guyanese around the world.

It is our wish that under Prime Minister Starmer’s stewardship, the United Kingdom will navigate the challenges of our time with wisdom and fortitude, forging a path towards a more inclusive and prosperous future.

The Alliance for Change stands ready to work in partnership with the new UK government, strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our nations. Together, we can strive to create a world where opportunity and prosperity are shared by all.

As we salute this remarkable achievement, we are reminded of the enduring words of Winston Churchill: “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” May this new chapter in the United Kingdom’s history be marked by transformative change and boundless progress as we in the Alliance for Change work towards comparable positive change in Guyana.

With warm regards and best wishes for a prosperous tenure,

The Alliance for Change
