The Lusignan Golf Club is preparing to host a strong field of local and international competitors on Monday for the annual Bruster’s Golf Tournament, with players competing for cash prizes, divisional honours and a place on the prestigious Bruster’s Cup.
The tournament tees off at 08:30h and will be played under the Stableford scoring system. The overall winner will receive $30,000 and have their name engraved on the Bruster’s Cup.
The runner-up will collect $20,000, while the third-place finisher will take home $15,000.
Adding a distinctive touch to the competition, the player recording the best gross score will receive an eight-inch ice cream cake from the tournament’s title sponsor, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.
Competitors will also vie for honours in two handicap divisions. A Flight will accommodate players with handicaps ranging from 0 to 15, while B Flight will feature those with handicaps between 16 and 28.
Winners in each division will receive half-gallon ice cream vouchers, with runners-up taking home pint vouchers.
This year’s tournament continues a six-year partnership between Lusignan Golf Club and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, reflecting the company’s sustained support for local sport and community engagement.
Club officials have acknowledged the contribution of Bruster’s and its director, Paton George, for their continued investment in golf and support for the tournament.
With cash prizes, divisional awards and sponsor incentives at stake, Monday’s competition is expected to draw an enthusiastic field to the Lusignan fairways.
