Dear Editor,

I have always had my misgivings about this new president of the CCJ Winston Anderson noting his particular affinity and engagement with the leaders of the PPP dictatorship government that went beyond what’s considered polite, and the normal protocol interaction expected at that high level of public behaviour.

It is noted that ‘ familiarity breeds contempt,’ but apparently that saying as applied to these circumstances is not as it is generally understood. Seems that the goodly President has allowed himself to be contaminated by association with the leadership of the PPP dictatorship that he might have justly earned the contempt of his colleagues on the bench of the CCJ.

When every of your colleagues agrees on the authoritarian attitude of your stewardship, only a resignation could salvage your image. It is unfortunate that every decision that would now flow from that August body would leave every appellant whose matter does not find favor with that body in which the President participates, might, unreasonable as it would be, think that justice has eluded him.

I think particularly of all those from Guyana who might have a matter against the PPP dictatorship or State!

Yours truly,
Lawrence Houston
