New Applications Being Accepted

The University of Guyana will reopen applications for selected Degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Year from 8 July to 17 August 2026. This provides another opportunity for prospective students to apply for admission to the nation’s premier tertiary institution.

Earlier this year, the University accepted applications from 30 March to 9 May 2026. This second application period provides another opportunity for prospective students, including those who recently sat the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and are awaiting their results, to apply for selected programmes where spaces remain available.

Information on selected programmes that are open, application procedures, and other important details is available through the University’s official communication channels, including its website, https://www.uog.edu.gy/, the Student Records Management System (SRMS) (for continuing students and alumni) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/uniofguyana, and via our media partners.

Projected Dates for Response

Applicants who submitted applications during the March–May application period and have not yet received a response should begin hearing from the University by mid-July. Those who submit their applications during this second phase will receive a response from the University regarding their application status by August 28, 2026. Applicants are urged to continuously check the SRMS to track their applications status. Orientation sessions and classes for the new academic year will begin during the last week of August and the first week of September.

Prospective students who were unable to apply during the initial application period this year are strongly encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity and apply early to avoid the last-minute rush, late registration and late enrollment for classes.
