The Guyana Cycling Federation, in collaboration with the National Sports Commission, has announced that two of the country’s promising young cyclists, Ajani Cutting and Sidwell Sandy, have joined fellow Guyanese rider Alexander Leung at the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) World Cycling Centre (WCC) Continental Development Satellite in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.
The prestigious programme is aimed at sharpening the riders’ technical abilities while preparing them for the demands of high-performance competition on the international stage. It also serves as a structured pathway for emerging athletes to transition into elite track cycling.
According to the federation, “This prestigious training programme is specifically designed to refine their technical skills, enhance their competitive edge, and provide a clear pathway toward becoming high-performance track cycling athletes.” Their inclusion signals both personal progress for the athletes and broader advancement for the sport locally.
