Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Beijing on Tuesday to discuss the Iran situation.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is scheduled to exchange views with Dar on other international and regional issues of common concern.

At a press briefing earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said both sides will make new efforts to promote peace, end conflict and safeguard regional peace and stability.

The two sides also put forward five proposals on restoring peace and stability in the Gulf region and the Middle East.
