The Alliance For Change (AFC) has extended New Year’s greetings to all Guyanese, calling for reflection, unity, and a renewed commitment to good governance and inclusive development.

In its message for 2026, the AFC wished citizens “a year of good health, purpose, and progress,” noting that the start of a new year is “a moment for honest reflection and renewed resolve.” The party emphasized the importance of assessing the nation’s current state, learning from past challenges, and recommitting to building a future “grounded in fairness, transparency, and shared prosperity.”

The AFC highlighted that Guyana is “at a critical juncture in its history,” stressing that decisions made now will shape both the present and the legacy left for future generations. The party said national development must be “people-centred, inclusive, and sustainable, ensuring that every Guyanese—regardless of background or circumstance—has a real stake in the nation’s success.”

Looking ahead, the AFC reaffirmed its commitment to “good governance, respect for democratic institutions, social justice, and meaningful national dialogue.” The party added that progress is strongest when it is built on “trust, accountability, and the active participation of citizens.”

Concluding its message, the AFC urged Guyanese to embrace the new year with “courage, unity, and a shared determination to create a Guyana that truly works for all,” and wished everyone “a safe, prosperous, and hopeful New Year.”

PRESS RELEASE

A New Year’s message from the Alliance For Change

As we welcome the New Year, the Alliance For Change extends best wishes to all Guyanese for a year of good health, purpose, and progress.

The start of a new year is a moment for honest reflection and renewed resolve. It is a time to assess where we are as a nation, to learn from the challenges of the past, and to recommit ourselves to building a future grounded in fairness, transparency, and shared prosperity.

Guyana stands at a critical juncture in its history. The decisions we make now will shape not only our present, but the legacy we leave for generations to come.
The Alliance For Change believes that our country’s development must be people-centred, inclusive, and sustainable, ensuring that every Guyanese—regardless of background or circumstance—has a real stake in the nation’s success.

In the year ahead, we reaffirm our commitment to good governance, respect for democratic institutions, social justice, and meaningful national dialogue. Progress is strongest when it is built on trust, accountability, and the active participation of citizens.

As we step into the New Year, let us do so with courage, unity, and a shared determination to create a Guyana that truly works for all.
The Alliance For Change wishes you a safe, prosperous, and hopeful New Year
