Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 6th, 2025, when the shores of the Marriott Beachfront become the epicenter of Caribbean entertainment culture. SounDown, Guyana’s premier beachfront electronic music festival, returns for its second year! The 11-hour event runs from 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM, featuring headliners Dannic and Walshy Fire alongside an international roster of artists spanning multiple continents and musical traditions.

Dannic brings an acclaimed catalog from Revealed Recordings and collaborative legacy with Hardwell to Guyanese audiences. His notable productions include tracks such as “Clobber” and “Feel Your Love,” which have dominated electronic music charts internationally. This marks his debut appearance in the South American nation.

Walshy Fire, is the internationally recognized face of Major Lazer, whose innovative approach blends Caribbean rhythms with contemporary electronic production. His work pioneering the dancehall-meets-electronic movement has influenced countless artists across the afrobeat and global bass spectrum. Netherlands contributes Le Prince to the lineup, an artist celebrated for developing Reggatronic, an innovative sonic hybrid fusing reggae foundations with electronic architecture. His studio partnerships include high-profile names like Timmy Trumpet and Ran-D.

The international contingent continues with Helang, a New York-based performer gaining recognition for her emotionally resonant and energetic sets that balance melody with intensity. Suriname’s Oefmeister brings neighbouring South American flavour, known for meticulous technical execution and rhythm-focused productions. Rounding out the bill are Caribbean representatives Tariq Dakhil from Guyana and Kimber, both embodying the region’s emerging electronic music movement.

Year two brings substantial enhancements across every dimension of the festival footprint. Technical production has been substantially upgraded, featuring sophisticated lighting arrays and pyrotechnic displays engineered to match standards typically reserved for major international festivals. This represents a significant investment in bringing world-tier production quality to the domestic market.

Beyond the musical programming, attendees will discover an ecosystem of complementary experiences. Regional visual artists have crafted site-specific installations throughout the venue grounds. A substantially expanded culinary area showcases both traditional Guyanese preparations alongside diverse international options. Designated interactive sponsor environments, continuous live art creation, and dedicated wellness spaces ensure varied engagement opportunities throughout the extended runtime. The partnership with Coke Studio as the event’s principal entertainment collaborator amplifies the connection between global artistic movements and local creative expression.

“This festival demonstrates Guyana’s readiness to compete on international creative platforms,” said Tariq Dakhil, founder of BPM Guyana. “Following Storm25’s success and our inaugural year’s reception, we’re building something with lasting cultural significance.”

The 2024 debut edition sold out with 800 attendees at the Marriott’s terrace venue, establishing strong demand for large-scale music events in Guyana. Building on that momentum and August’s Storm25 event featuring Darude, SounDown positions itself as the nation’s flagship recurring music festival.

SounDown 2025 receives backing from multiple organizations committed to advancing Guyana’s entertainment infrastructure. Coke Studio holds the principal entertainment partnership role. Additional supporters include telecommunications provider Enet, creative agency Impressions Design, the governmental Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, and Jewelz Hotel.

Demonstrating commitment beyond entertainment, SounDown has established a formal alliance with Fureva Hope Alive Animal Rescue. A designated percentage of ticket revenue supports their animal welfare initiatives and community rescue operations. This collaboration reflects the festival’s philosophy that cultural development should advance alongside social responsibility. Each admission contributes to both an exceptional personal experience and tangible positive impact within the broader community.
