Chase, whose composed displays anchored the team’s 3-0 sweep, has broken into the top three T20I all-rounders in the world, climbing six places to sit on 227 points in the latest update released on November 2.
Chase leads the charge
The elegant Barbadian has steadily evolved into one of the West Indies’ most dependable short-format performers. In the three-match series against Bangladesh, Chase scored 67 runs in two innings at an average of 67 and bowled with his characteristic control, conceding just one wicket from seven overs.
His rise to the No. 3 all-rounder spot now places him among elite company — trailing only global giants Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Nabi — and marks another chapter in his transformation from a classical Test batsman to a complete T20 package.
Shepherd and Holder in lockstep
While Chase’s ascension grabbed the headlines, teammates Romario Shepherd and Jason Holder also enjoyed ranking boosts after spearheading the Caribbean side’s bowling attack.
Both men finished the Bangladesh series as joint leading wicket-takers with seven scalps apiece, reaffirming their importance in the West Indies’ evolving T20 structure.
Shepherd remains steady at 11th among T20I all-rounders, while Holder climbed one spot to 14th in that category. However, their real leaps came in the bowling charts, where Holder vaulted nine places to 23rd, Chase climbed 13 places to 38th, and Shepherd surged 10 places to 63rd.
Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein, meanwhile, continued to underline his consistency, retaining his position as the second-ranked T20I bowler in the world, just behind Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.
Batsmen on the rise
There were also notable strides among the West Indies’ emerging batsmen. Ackeem Auguste made the most spectacular jump of all, soaring 102 places to 83rd following a string of composed innings.
Alick Athanaze climbed 32 places to 84th, while Amir Jangoo rose 27 spots to 87th after consistent performances with the bat. Chase once again featured among the upward movers, leaping 28 positions to 78th, while captain Shai Hope continued his quiet climb, inching up two spots to 12th globally.
Not all news was upward, however: Rovman Powell slipped four places to 34th, Brandon King fell seven places to 35th, and Sherfane Rutherford dropped five spots to 75th amid a series that tested the depth of the batting line-up.
Caribbean momentum building
The across-the-board ranking surge underscores the renewed momentum within the West Indies T20 setup underpinned by a balanced attack and the emergence of a versatile middle order.
For Chase, Shepherd, and Holder, the latest rankings confirm their growing stature in international cricket — and signal that the Caribbean side, once again, is beginning to punch at its traditional weight in the game’s shortest format.
