Amidst a rising tide of political speculation and misinformation, Member of Parliament and long-standing People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) member Annette Ferguson has firmly denied rumours that she has departed the party, calling the claims “malicious” and a deliberate attempt to sow confusion ahead of the national elections.

In a powerful and heartfelt statement, on social media, Ferguson reassured her constituents and the people of Guyana: “I have NOT left the PNCR. I continue to work in the best interest of my constituents and my country, with a vision for a brighter Guyana.” She warned the public not to be misled by politically motivated social media posts designed to destabilise and divide the Party at a critical time.

Ferguson emphasised her unbroken commitment to the PNCR, a party she described as a “vibrant and enduring political movement” with a proud 60-year legacy of service, resilience, and nation-building. Tracing the PNCR’s history back to its founder leader, Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham, she reflected on its principled foundation, democratic structure, and achievements—from independence to universal education, to landmark infrastructure projects that shaped modern Guyana.

“The PNC has weathered both political storms and times of governance,” she wrote. “And I am confident that the current difficulties too shall pass.”

Acknowledging that internal disagreements exist in any institution, Ferguson said she chosen faith and fortitude. With quiet conviction, she called on party members and supporters to remain focused.  Quoting the Gospel of Matthew 26:41, she urged: “Let us watch and pray together… that this noble organisation will rise once stronger, more unified, and more committed than ever to serving the people of Guyana.”

In the midst of an election season marked by noise and distraction, Annette Ferguson rises with unwavering conviction, offering a powerful reminder of the enduring values that built the PNCR. With heartfelt determination, she reaffirms her loyalty and renews hope in a united, purpose-driven future for all Guyanese.
