El Dorado Offshore (EDO) hosted its largest career fair to date at National Park, drawing more than 600 jobseekers eager to explore opportunities in Guyana’s booming oil and gas sector. A press release issued by the company highlighted the success of the event, which took place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025

The event offered a wealth of resources to attendees, including preliminary interviews, networking sessions with top employers, and career advice from industry professionals. Training institutions RelyOn and 3t EnerMech (ODITC) were present to provide guidance on skill development for offshore and onshore roles, while representatives from the Ministry of Labour shared insights on employment policies and career pathways within the sector.

The event “was about more than just job placements—it was about equipping jobseekers with the knowledge, connections, and confidence to take the next step in their careers,” said Mariam Baig-Yasmin, Human Resource Manager at El Dorado Offshore, as noted in the press release. “With industry leaders, training institutions, and government representatives in one space, attendees walked away with real opportunities to build their future.”

In addition, representatives from major industry players, including Noble, SBM, and Stena Drilling, provided firsthand knowledge on how to position oneself for success in the growing energy sector. The event underscored the demand for skilled professionals in Guyana’s rapidly expanding oil and gas industry and offered practical guidance on securing opportunities in the field.

Throughout the day, jobseekers engaged in one-on-one conversations with recruiters, received tips on improving their resumes and interview techniques, and explored training programs designed to enhance their qualifications for in-demand roles.

With Guyana emerging as a major energy hub, El Dorado Offshore remains committed to supporting workforce development and ensuring local talent is well-prepared to meet industry demands.
