A titan of Guyana’s business community, Terrence Campbell, said he was happy to be in the presence of what he called a “vibrant movement,” noting, “Especially now that we are entering an election year, to see people mobilize and take part in this election is a strong sign that people care about Guyana’s future.” Campbell observed that there are a number of issues going wrong in society and highlighted that “it was a good turnout; there was a good gender balance and a great spread between older folks and younger ones.” He added that the issues outlined by the various speakers were uplifting. From what he gathered, he highlighted, “Education, women’s rights, the treatment of women, fair wages, anti-corruption, and the rule of law are some of the ongoing challenges in Guyana.” Expressing his excitement at the attendance and mobilization, he stated, “We have to fight for change, so congratulations to the Honorable Simona Broomes on her efforts to mobilize people for change in Guyana,” Campbell said.

Leader of the Alliance for Change and attorney at law Nigel Hughes shared his views on what he witnessed at the ALP launch. He said, “I want to congratulate Simona. I think the more people that get into this process, the more choices there will be for the Guyanese people.” Hughes added, “This launch is another great example of what must be done to foster the spirit of vibrancy during the election cycle and beyond.” Noting that “this country is a kaleidoscope of ethnicity that can see the need for several movements coming together,” he emphasized, “This can take the form of coming together after elections are held, like in countries such as Suriname, where the various movements or political parties join together to form the government. That is one of the reasons I advocate for constitutional change to aid and facilitate choice and freedom.”

The ALP launched at the Impeccable Banquet Hall on 02.01.2025. Assembly, Liberty, Prosperity – #AGOODCHANGE
