This month, the STEMGuyana leadership team is delighted to honor an exceptional leader whose unwavering dedication and passion for education have made a profound impact on our program—Ms. Simone Giles-Hector.

Although Ms. Hector joined STEM Guyana later than many of her peers, she has consistently demonstrated that starting late is no barrier to achieving greatness. From the moment she stepped into the program, her hard work and determination have stood out. Her commitment to growth is evident in her willingness to embrace new challenges, absorb constructive feedback with humility, and continuously refine her skills. She turns every suggestion into an opportunity for improvement, embodying the true essence of lifelong learning.

Ms. Hector’s journey is a story of resilience and passion. Her steadfast commitment to her personal development and the success of the children she works with is truly inspiring. Her impact is evident in the lives she touches, the minds she nurtures, and the enthusiasm she brings to every task. We are proud to recognize Ms. Hector’s invaluable contributions to the program and excited to see her future achievements.

Quoting Nelson Mandela, Ms. Hector reminds us that “Education is the most powerful weapon.” She shares, “I was invited to join STEM Guyana a few months ago, and I willingly accepted the challenge because teaching has always been my passion.”

With over 30 years in the education system, Ms. Hector’s dedication to learners has been a remarkable journey. “It’s truly amazing to witness their transformation as they grow and go on to become lawyers, doctors, and even teachers. Seeing their success brings me immense satisfaction, knowing that I’ve played a part in imparting the knowledge that helped shape their futures,” she reflects.

Ms. Hector’s leadership at Bagotville Primary Pod continues to inspire her colleagues and students alike. Her story is a testament to the power of education, passion, and perseverance in shaping brighter futures.
